I am a psychotherapist with a private practice in Midtown, Sacramento, California. I have been practicing as a licensed clinician for over 14 years, and more generally been a social worker for over 23 years, conducting education, research, and clinical work. I work with people living with chronic health and mental health conditions, with those struggling with their identity and making meaning in life, and with adults having un-/expected challenges in relationships, work, and beyond.

In addition to private practice, I hold a PhD in Social Welfare and have a number of professional positions. I am on faculty at an accredited school of social work, and conduct critical health research. And, I am a clinical supervisor and consultant for license-seeking and seasoned professionals. Prior to private practice, I have worked in both in- & out-patient medical/psychiatric settings as well as community-based organizations, all of which focused on trauma, mental health, LGBTQ+ populations, and chronic health conditions including HIV/AIDS.

Alongside my professional work, it is important to know that I am not a robot. Rather, I am an engaged citizen committed to promoting social justice, to reducing health disparities and social inequities, and to engaging in practices that increase community wellbeing. I am also Domestically Partnered in a bilingual and bicultural relationship, and a co-parent of two children.

My services can range from short-term problem solving and education, to supportive behavior change, to more in-depth psychotherapy. I also offer clinical consultation, program development, and research/evaluation services. Payment is due at the time of service. At this time, I accept some insurance plans.
